BİM became the first market to implement the Total Anti-Inflation Program. BİM announced yesterday that it has made discounts on 39 products with rates exceeding 10 per cent. Among the discounted products were full-fat white cheese, toothpaste, yoghurt, fresh cheddar, shampoo, honey, instant soup, baby biscuits, sausage and many consumable foods and cleaning agents.
At the meeting where the Total Inflation Control Program was announced, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli announced that they would identify 50 products containing the basic needs of the consumer and that chain markets would make a 10 per cent discount on these products by the end of the year. More than a week has passed since this announcement. During this period, more than 1500 institutions, organizations, companies, and brands reported to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance that they will participate in the Total Anti Inflation Program.
However, the only chain market that announced the products to be discounted under the Mücadele Total Combating Inflation ”logo to the public was BİM. 39 food brands ranging from food to personal cleaning products and snacks have been announced at old and new prices. It was calculated that the products in question were discounted at rates exceeding 10 per cent.
